Maria Caulfield MP has welcomed news that Newhaven Port has been chosen as one of only 16 across the country to receive a share of the £10 million Port Infrastructure Resilience and Connectivity Fund.
The fund will provide investment to boost capacity and efficiency so that Newhaven Port is ready for Brexit and a successful future for years to come. Newhaven Port has seen off many quality bids from across the country to be chosen as one of only 16 across the country.
This is another example of Maria Caulfield MP fighting for the future of Newhaven and ensuring that its regeneration will benefit local people.
Maria Caulfield MP said “I am delighted that my lobbying of Government and speaking up for the great port of Newhaven has seen it chosen as one of only 16 ports across the entire UK to be part of this £10 million funding pot that will boost capacity and efficiency.”
“This is another step forward for the regeneration of Newhaven and is great news for the port and the wider community.”
