Maria Caulfield MP has attended the launch of the Ringmer Area Community Land Trust in Firle.

The Ringmer Area Community Land Trust (RACLT) is a community benefit society, registered with the Financial Conduct Authority, to sustainably further the social, economic and environmental interests of people who live and work in the Ringmer area, including Glynde, Firle and Beddingham.

The aims of the RACLT are initially to provide affordable housing for local people with a strong connection to the villages; acquiring, developing and stewarding land and other assets; promoting community led initiatives, such as housing, community facilities, workspaces, renewable energy and sustainable land management projects.

Maria Caulfield MP said “I was pleased to attend the launch of the Ringmer Area Community Land Trust and would like to thank all those involved for their hard work in getting to this stage. The RACLT has some excellent plans that will really help local people across the villages of Ringmer, Glynde, Firle and Beddingham.

"I look forward to working with them in the future to help them achieve their goals for the benefit of the local community.”
