Maria Caulfield MP has shown her support for electric cars by attending the Lewes Electric Car Show.
The electric car show was organised by Julia Waterlow, Transition Town Lewes and Ovesco. As well as a variety of electric cars, there were electric bikes, scooters and motorbikes and a display area with information on electric vehicles, the future of transport both private and public and questions on how we can meet our zero carbon targets going forward.
Maria Caulfield MP said “The climate emergency is one of the biggest threats facing not just our country but the world. The Government is working hard on policies to tackle the climate emergency and to ensure that we are the first generation since the industrial revolution to leave the environment in a better condition to the next generation.
"People may not realise it but, as was shown at the electric car show in Lewes, the technology has greatly improved over recent years making electric cars cheaper and easier to use. I would encourage anyone looking for a new car to have a serious look at an electric car.”
