Maria Caulfield, MP for Lewes, is urging residents in the villages along the C7 to be prepared for overnight road closures in June to allow road resurfacing to take place.
East Sussex Highways will be carrying out road surface repairs on the C7 from 1st June to 27th June each night from 8pm to 5am. Access for vehicles may be possible but the area needing access to will need to be made safe which may take time. Emergency vehicles will be allowed access at all time. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
The diversion will go via the A259, A26, A27, Bell Lane and vice versa.
Maria Caulfield MP said “I want to make sure that residents in the villages along the C7 are aware of the overnight closure to the C7 for much needed resurfacing works.
"Whilst access may be possible, stopping the works should be avoided if possible so residents may wish to make alternative arrangements to ensure that they are getting home or leaving outside of the 8pm to 5am window.”
“The C7 is in a poor state and these works are very much needed to ensure better driving and cycling conditions going forward.”
